Changing Room Project - Latest
Our £300,000 changing room project is just like the song ‘Old man river’, it just keeps rolling along.
We’ve made more progress since the last update. We’ve secured a £50,000 interest free loan which is great, but we need to pay back £10,000 a year for the next 5 years. This will be a challenge as the OCA’s annual income only covers the annual expenditure, despite everyone who works at Lawford Lane being unpaid volunteers. We are working hard to increase our income and are now letting our halls more than we ever have before which is helping, but there is still more to do.
We have been running a very successful Crowdfunder campaign, which has now reached £25,000, including £6,000 from Sport England Active Together. 128 people have supported the Crowdfunder and quite a few past and present members/players have donated £1,000 each. Given that we have more than 500 past and present members/players we would hope that more people can support this project to help us get up to (and even over) the £30,000 mark. If all of our past and present members/players donated just £10 then we would easily reach the £30,000 mark, so if you haven’t donated yet please do so today. Thanks!
We hope to hear from the Football Foundation in the next 6 weeks if our application for £200,000+ has been successful. In the meantime, we must carry on doing all we can to make sure we have enough funding so that this essential project can be completed.
